This Privacy Policy explains how The Laurel LLC, doing business as Laurel Canyon Car Wash (“we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares personal information — both on this website and at our car wash at 5950 Laurel Canyon Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91607.
Information You Give Us on This Website
We only collect what you type into a form. There is no customer account system on this website, and we do not process payments here.
Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number (if you provide one), the service you selected, and your message.
Membership signup form. Your email address only. This form requests an intro code; it does not enroll you. Memberships are completed in person at the wash.
Information Collected Automatically on This Website
Form submissions. When you submit either form, our system records your IP address and browser user agent along with your message. We use this only to identify and block automated spam.
Server logs. Our web host records standard request information, including IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps.
Cookies. This website sets a small number of cookies:
_tccl_visitorand_tccl_visit— set by our hosting provider, GoDaddy, to measure website traffic._scc_session— a session cookie used by our hosting platform.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work.
We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Meta/Facebook pixel, the TikTok pixel, Microsoft advertising tags, or any other advertising or cross-site tracking pixel on this website.
Information We Collect at the Car Wash
Unlimited membership signup. Memberships are set up in person at the wash. When you enroll, we collect your name and contact details, information about your vehicle including its license plate, and payment information. Card transactions are handled by our payment provider.
License plate recognition. We operate an automated license plate recognition (ALPR) system at the entrance to the tunnel. It photographs and reads the license plate of each vehicle so that we can recognize member vehicles and apply the correct unlimited plan. A license plate linked to a membership is personal information, and we treat it as such.
Security cameras. Our property is monitored by video security cameras. Recordings are used to protect the safety of our customers and staff, to deter and investigate theft or damage, and to resolve disputes about a wash.
Separate ALPR policy. California law requires operators of license plate recognition systems to publish a specific usage and privacy policy describing how that information is handled. That document is separate from this policy and is being prepared. If you would like a copy of our current practices in writing before it is posted, contact us using the details below and we will provide one.
How We Use Information
- To answer your questions and respond to your messages
- To recognize member vehicles and apply the correct unlimited plan
- To manage memberships and take payment for them
- To send you the membership intro code you requested, and occasional information about memberships and promotions
- To protect the safety and security of our customers, staff, and property
- To detect and block spam and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
Promotional email is sent by hand from our own business inbox. We do not use a mailing platform, and we do not add you to any list you did not ask to join. You can ask us to stop at any time using the contact details below.
Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Some services receive information — including your IP address — simply because your browser connects to them when a page loads:
- GoDaddy — hosts this website and provides basic traffic measurement.
- Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this website.
- Google Maps — provides the embedded map in our location section. Google’s own privacy policy governs its use of that information.
At the wash, our payment provider processes membership card transactions, and the vendors who supply our license plate recognition and camera systems may have technical access to those systems in order to support them.
We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, in response to a valid legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.
How Long We Keep Information
Messages sent through this website arrive as email and are kept in our business email account for as long as we need them to serve you and keep our business records. Website form submissions are not stored in a database on this site. Server logs are retained by our host on its own schedule.
Membership records are kept for as long as you are a member and for as long afterwards as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. License plate information and camera recordings are kept only as long as needed for the purposes described above; the retention period for license plate data is set out in our separate ALPR usage and privacy policy.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and our forms use spam and abuse protections. We maintain reasonable security procedures and practices intended to protect the information we hold, including license plate information, from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete information we no longer need to keep
- Stop sending you promotional email
California residents may have additional rights under California privacy law, including the right to know what personal information is collected about them and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in California law. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Because privacy obligations depend on the size and circumstances of a business, this section describes how we handle requests as a matter of practice. It is not a legal determination about which statutes apply to us.
Children’s Privacy
This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Other Websites
Our website links to other websites, including Google Maps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
